You get a lot more than just web hosting. You get domain registration and hosting for a year, listing in everycontractor’s database under your industry in your area (as well as others you may choose, depending on your agreement with ec). Perhaps the biggest “plus”, in my opinion (unless you already have a site up and running) is the ability to build and impressive website without HTML or other web application fluency (or the option of having everycontractor design a 6 page site for you, included in the price of admission). I can’t speak to how good a site ec might cobble together for you (our site is 100% me), but I DO know that there is NO WAY we/I could have bought a site comparable to the one I put together with very little in the way of experience doing so for ANYWHERE NEAR $500. this, in my opinion, was the “swing” factor in deciding to go with everycontractor. In the 2 ½ months we’ve been up & running with the “add-ons” to our original agreement (they included listing us in three states even though our plan only included our local area), and after spending some time in the various presence, and virtually THE ONLY construction/contracting-specific web portal out there! They’ve partnered with the largest and most influential builder’s exchanges nationwide, and will only get bigger. Do I think it’s worth $500? Uh-h-h-h….YEAH.

I joined Every Contractor in November of ’05 and they have sent me a continuous stream of leads that I have been able to turn into working projects. At first I thought that the amount that they charged was expensive, but when I compared it to advertising in the local newspaper for a year, it actually wasn’t bad. The advantage is that I’m getting a lot more leads than I did with the paper. I had to have them not send me leads in August of this year as I couldn’t get to them all and get any work done. Two weeks ago our company joined EveryContractor.com on a trial basis. During that short time period we were able to secure one large contract and bid on three others that look very promising. Prior to joining we were not aware that services like this were available.
